Youth are an integral part of the church. They participate in every aspect of church life, from mission trips and retreats, to leading worship, to Sunday School classes, to playing on the church softball team, to local service projects, to weekly fellowship.
Our Jr. High group is for students in 6th - 8th grade, and our Sr. High group is for 9th - 12th. Our goal at FPC is to develop a foundation for all aspects of a teenager's faith through worship, discipleship, and service opportunities. We recognize there are special challenges and concerns at every age and stage of life, and we actively seek and support caring adult mentors who will walk alongside our youth. Here are some of the ways FPC youth are involved throughout the year:
Souper Bowl of Caring - Our youth participate in this annual food and fundraiser to serve the less fortunate on Superbowl Sunday. This is a nation-wide effort with churches across the country collecting for their own local communities. All together we raise millions of dollars and cans for the hungry. Learn more about the program at souperbowl.org.
Youth Sunday - Every year in the spring, the youth take responsibility for an entire worship service. They do everything from ushering to readings and prayers to delivering the message. It is a highlight in worship to see how our teenagers give praise to God!
